Iowa/Tennessee Partnership

The Baptist Convention of Iowa and the Tennessee Baptist Convention have linked themselves together for purposes of partnership in ministry.  Tennessee, the Volunteer State, has been true to its moniker for Iowans ever since with Mission Teams, ministry leaders, resources and training flooding into the state with incredible abundance.  Iowans have had the privilege of responding ministry teams traveling in to Tennessee to assist in a variety of ministry activities as well.  Relationships have emerged that will last a lifetime and the ministries of churches, associations, new works, and individual lives have been permanently impacted.

Churches of the Baptist Convention of Iowa can benefit from the Iowa/Tennessee Partnership by completing the form in this web site requesting a specific ministry action, date, etc., and forwarding the form to the Baptist Convention of Iowa.

South Central/Cumberland Partnership

South Central Baptist Association has been blessed of God to have the Cumberland Baptist Association of Tennessee to be our partners in ministry since 2001. Cumberland’s Director of Missions, Dennis Pulley, has worked closely with South Central’s Missionary Strategist, Roger Graves, to respond to ministry projects over each of the following summers. Partnership teams have served in Chariton, Lamoni, Osceola, Creston, and Ottumwa, Albia, Centerville, etc. Each time there have been long term implications for the kingdom and an increased sense of what we can do together.

A current development underway is to work with Cumberland partners to provide a pair of lay, volunteer missionaries to plant themselves in the three northeastern-most counties of the Association (Marion, Mahaska, and Keokuk) for a period of 12-18 months with view to starting Discipling OutPosts that can develop into simple and new indigenous expressions of church.

In addition to hosting Cumberland volunteers, South Central Association has been privileged to provide church leaders from several churches preach and witness and sing in Cumberland Association churches. In the summer of 2005 and spring of 2007, a team of men from South Central churches assisted with the ministry of a church start in Cumberland Association, knocking on hundreds of doors, sharing faith, and pointing people to the new church.

Church to Church partnerships are now forming out of this Partnership and long term relationships are forming. If you would like to explore the possibilities of the South Central/Cumberland Partnership, please contact Roger Graves.
